Perth Garden Design

Garden design is a good investment for anyone.

Garden Design has traditionally been afforded by high-end and sophisticated garden-owners.  Having worked in a range of properties from riverside estates to the courtyards of humble apartments however, I believe that using a garden design service is a good investment for anyone.

It can help avoid costly problems, such as planting species that don’t thrive in particular locations, are high-maintenance, grow too large, infiltrate pipes, damage building foundations, or clog gutters.  Good design can minimise maintenance requirements, resulting in long-term savings and less water usage.

A designed landscape can integrate different uses a space might serve, far better than one made in a piecemeal fashion.  Different contractors may complete jobs well, but it is not necessarily their role to consider the bigger picture.

A good design simply offers beauty that enhances the enjoyment of life. There can be many elements to enjoy in such a garden: shapes, texture, colour, scent and motion.  It provides a place to de-stress and be inspired.  Research from around the world demonstrates clear psychological and physical benefits of living in close proximity to plants and trees.  A garden regulates privacy, exposure to winds, shade, sunlight and the way heat transfers through buildings.  Intelligent design can therefore result in a much more liveable environment both indoors and out.

Expert garden design. It all starts with a consultation starting at $100

After visiting a site for an initial consultation and discussing your needs, I typically retreat with notes, measurements, photos and begin contemplating a definite plan.  Sometimes an aerial plan, or even a side-profile drawing are useful for a customer to visualise concepts.   Sometimes a written description is adequate.  If the levels of hardscape elements such as walls and paving need to be precise, the contractors involved may require computer-drafted designs.
