Soil Improvement
If planting in the ground is to occur, soil improvement is crucial. Particularly on reclaimed sites or following builds, soil can contain junk detrimental to plant health. Even if planting native species on relatively untouched land, the results will be significantly better if this work is done. I will not omit this task in order to offer a cheaper quote, or do an insufficient job so as to profit more from a quote. Time often tells!
Sourcing Materials & Special Features
An exciting aspect of landscaping is finding the perfect outdoor artworks, seating, birdbaths, ponds, night-lighting and even feature-pieces of stone. I am a keen admirer of historical Chinese and Japanese rock-gardens!
Siteworks
The initial stage of landscaping may involve excavation, sculpting or levelling of a site.

Hardscape
I do small-scale limestone or paving work. Larger projects can be efficiently handled by specialist contractors. I can assist with managing this if required.
Irrigation
Unfortunately it is common to see watering systems installed badly as DIY projects! They don’t apply water efficiently or require expensive but avoidable repairs. Professionally installed retic sometimes provides an effectively engineered system but does not always consider the owner’s ability to do maintenance, or whether it conserves water, or what will work best for the plants themselves in the long-run. My years of repairing and installing retic have given me insight into what systems work well in particular situations.
Turf
I can advise whether you are best to keep and upgrade an existing lawn, or to remove it and reinstall a more suitable type of turf. The installation of artificial turf is not a service I offer. I prefer to create living gardens that help moderate extreme temperatures.
